The day of capturing this beautiful family had so many highlights. All week, the weather had been gloomy, rainy, and windy. I had to mentally prepare myself to struggle for good light and clean-looking locations. But.. when the day came- it could not have been better!

The sun was glowing at Katherine Albertson’s park in Boise. The trees still were shining their bright fall colors before the end of the season. This weather was truly better than I could have expected and totally encapsulated all that I look for in fall weather!

What was even better was getting to capture this beautiful family. My connection with them started my sophomore year of high school when Averi, the band director at the time and mother of this family, warmly welcomed me into the marching band. Averi is more than a teacher or director; she is a leader, role model, and friend. I could make an entirely separate blog post on the lessons she has helped teach me! She has helped me to realize that I need to educate and push myself towards my biggest goals- and I will never forget that.

Not only was I able to reconnect with Averi, but was also able to help her and Skylar celebrate the great gift of family they have found with Ryker. He is a beautiful little boy, full of smiles and personality. He was definitely not camera shy as he never let go of his big smile, and loved every minute of the evening at the park! It was hard for me to stop smiling with a glowing face like his looking towards the camera!

This was a great day to celebrate the people who impact our lives- family or friends. I hope you enjoy seeing a little glimpse of the beauty this family holds.
